Privacy Policy for Crested Gecko ID

Crested Gecko ID helps users identify visible crested gecko morph traits from photos using an AI service selected by the app. This policy explains what information the app processes and how optional uploads are used.

Information We Process

• Photos selected from your gallery or captured with your camera for morph identification.
• An identification prompt sent with the photo to the AI services.
• Optional uploaded correction photos and improvement photos.
• Morph traits you select for uploaded photos.
• Prediction metadata for corrections, such as predicted traits, possible traits, model scores and model version.
• Technical timestamps and storage paths needed to store optional uploads.

For a normal identification, the app sends the selected photo and prompt directly from your device to OpenRouter. OpenRouter routes the request to the selected model provider, Google. The current model is google/gemini-3.8-flash, and the app requests OpenRouter's zero-data-retention routing for each identification.

You provide your own OpenRouter API key. The key is stored in Android Keystore or iOS Keychain and is sent to OpenRouter only to authenticate your requests. The app developer does not receive or store the key in Supabase. The app does not require or create an app account.

How Photos Are Used

Normal identification photos are sent to OpenRouter and Google to provide the AI result. They are not uploaded to the app developer's Supabase backend unless you separately choose to submit a correction or labeled improvement photo.

Optional correction photos, improvement photos, and morph labels may be reviewed and used to improve future app results.

Storage

Optional correction and improvement photos are stored in a private Supabase Storage bucket on the shared Supabase backend at https://api2.grasberg.se. Their labels, prediction metadata, timestamps, and storage paths are stored in the same Supabase/Postgres backend.

Normal identification requests are processed under OpenRouter's and Google's retention practices. Review and manage those services through your OpenRouter account and the providers' published policies.

Sharing

We do not sell photos, labels, API keys, or prediction data. OpenRouter and Google receive normal identification photos only to provide the AI service. Optional correction data may be reviewed by the app owner or used in internal model-improvement workflows. The app contains no advertising and uses no advertising or cross-app tracking.

Your Choices

Submitting a correction or labeled improvement photo to Supabase is optional. You can use identification without submitting feedback, but identification requires sending the selected photo to OpenRouter and Google. You can remove your saved OpenRouter API key in the app's settings.

Data Deletion

You can request deletion of optional feedback photos and labels stored by the app developer by emailing grasberg@gmail.com. Requests and data handled through your OpenRouter account are subject to OpenRouter's and Google's deletion and retention processes.

AI Results

AI identification can be incomplete or wrong. Treat every result as guidance and verify it with an experienced breeder or keeper before making breeding, sales, health, or care decisions.
